Dinky ~ Triumph 1800 Sedan ~ # 40B

A real classic this week from who else,  Dinky.  Model has some paint chips so it shows that someone had some FUN !     I just love these real old ones,  with the headlights set in on the fenders.  Made in England 1948 to 1954,  model features cast body,  turned hubs,  black tires,  no interior or windows, black base - no reference number.
1.  Dark Blue body, blue wheels
2.  Blue body
3.  Black body
4.  Cream body
5.  Grey body

  1. Hi - just to clarify - the Black version was one of the first to be released (see http://toysnz.com/Dinky040b-151_Triumph1800Saloon) and was followed by a #40b Tan with green hubs, Grey with grey hubs, then it switched to #151 as Blue with blue hubs, blue with tan hubs, tan with green hubs, grey with grey hubs then a new base was added under #151 and they started again with blue body and hubs, blue with tan hubs, tan with green hubs and finally grey with grey hubs. As you can see it can be very difficult to sort out which version is which! BTW your Cream is generally referred to as Tan in the collector's books. This is a great wee site you have here so I hope you take my post in the well-intended manner I hope it comes across as.

    1. Hi,
Thanks for the comment and info ! Always great to learn something about the history of the models. I'm fairly new to collecting (31 years old) and still learning a lot, only been collecting vintage diecast for about 3 years, so I have lots to learn. Checked out your website and its great, lots of useful information, I'll look forward to looking around on it in the coming winter months ! Happy Holidays, Felix
